From mid-November until late January the sun doesn’t rise at all in Norway, with the spectacular light show – The Northern Lights – attracting thousands of tourists. Best seen in late autumn and early spring, the aurora borealis is a mystical, ethereal showcase. Recommended spots are above the Arctic Circle, in places such as the Lofoten Islands and Tromso.
