What's different about driving in New Zealand?
There are a few key things to remember when driving an Omega rental car in New Zealand.
- Driving in New Zealand is on the left side of the road. This can take some getting used to.
- On rural roads or highways, the posted speed limit is usually 100km/h, with most urban areas having a limit of 50km/h. The roads can be winding and narrow, so it is extra important to obey road rules and pay attention, and, when in doubt, slow down.
- All drivers must possess a valid driver licence or permit while driving.
- At roundabouts, travel in a clockwise direction, giving way to the traffic on your right.
- Do not use a hand-held mobile phone while driving.
Do I need to book ahead?
It is highly recommended that you book your car rental well in advance to ensure there is availability for your visiting dates and that you get the vehicle you want.
