Is Europcar owned by Hertz?
Europcar Mobility Group is a French car rental company founded in 1949 in Paris. It is not owned by Hertz.
How can I pay for my Europcar NZ car rental?
American Express, Diners Club, Master Card, and Visa are all accepted. Cash Rental Deposit is not available. Credit card pre-authorisation of rental charges will be taken at the time of pick-up. An additional bond may also be pre-authorsied on your credit card at the time of pick up. To save more, you may also key in your coupon code/promo code if there is any upon finializing your booking.
Can I register multiple drivers for the car hire?
Additional drivers are authorized to drive the vehicle if they meet the same license requirements as the main driver. They need to be expressly mentioned/identified on the rental agreement.
What type of fuel can I use for the vehicle?
Information on fuel will be provided to you at the Europcar counter at pick up time. In addition, the fuel type will be mentioned in the tank flap and in the vehicle manufacturer's guide that you will find in the glove box.
Can I drop off my car at a different location?
One-way rentals may be available at an additional cost. Check also if there is a premium location surcharge or any other charges to your account. Type your desired pick up point and destination into the search bar to view the availability and relevant rates.
What is the maximum period of rental?
You can rent a Europcar rental for several months at a time. Please contact our customer service team for more information.
What is the mileage policy for my rental?
Europcar offers two types of rates: the rate including unlimited mileage and the rate that includes limited mileage, which means that you will be charged extra for additional mileage over that limit. You will be advised on the rate pages of our online booking service whether unlimited mileage is included, or you can ask at the counter when you pick up your car.
What happens if my rental car gets damaged?
Europcar is a global leader in providing clients with complete 24-hour emergency roadside assistance. The contact number to be called is printed on the rental agreement and on the windscreen of the rental vehicle. In the event of a breakdown or an accident, you will receive prompt assistance. Free roadside assistance is provided for inherent mechanical faults, but extra fees apply for faults and driver-induced errors. You must immediately report any accident or theft of the vehicle to Europcar in writing and complete all required documentation and forward any third-party correspondence or court documents to Europcar within 7 days of receipt.
