It’s possible to pick up a Budget car in one city and drop it off in another, often with unlimited mileage. Simply type your desired pick up location, drop off destination and dates into the search function to view availability and associated costs. In some cases, Budget can also provide a pick-up service to those needing transportation to the local facility. Also check if your chosen deal is valid only for local rentals, which may affect rates when bringing the vehicle outside the territory you booked with.

Are Avis and Budget the same?

Is it cheaper to pre-book a rental car?
Sometimes it is cheaper to pre-pay a reservation as it gives you the option to lock in a low rate. Generally, it is better to book well in advance to get cheaper prices. Also, if you are one of the AARP members, you can also input your promo codes to save more.
Can you rent a car with a debit card?
You can rent a car with a debit card at many Budget locations across the U.S. Check with the local depot and on your reservation receipt to confirm payment options which work properly before your arrival.
What is the minimum age requirement?
You can rent a car from Budget at age 21 in most states (at age 18 in New York and Michigan states) if you pay an underage renter surcharge. There is no surcharge for drivers 25 and older.
Do you require a deposit to rent a vehicle?
Yes. Your deposit type, amount and payment method will vary by Budget location.
What driver's license do I need?
You will need to show a valid driver’s license issued in the U.S. or Canada with your name. Budget does not accept digital driver’s licenses for rental. If you want to rent a car in the United States but are from Canada, you will also need to present a current passport or Enhanced Driver’s License with your name on it.
You must show a driver’s license and passport if you are from any other country. And if you are from a country that does not use the Roman alphabet for writing, you will need a driver’s license, passport, and an International Driving Permit in your name. All renters from outside the U.S. and Canada must also show proof of a return trip to the country where they live, or the rental rate may change.
Do you deliver vehicles?
No. However, at many locations, Budget offers a pick-up service to those needing local transportation to our rental facility. Please contact the location directly to determine if it offers this service.
Do you offer one-way rentals?
Yes, subject to local policies and associated fees. Enjoy convenient and affordable one-way rentals from participating airport, downtown and suburban locations across the U.S., often with unlimited mileage. Same with certain features or services, if you do not choose this option when making a reservation, you must advise Budget as soon as possible to avoid additional charges.
