Given that a lot of rental companies let you pick up your rental vehicle in one location and drop it off in another, it's entirely possible for a lot of travellers to realise this fantasy. Especially with a little secret that we're about to let you in on that could help you snatch some great deals!
Relocation, relocation, relocation
Did you ever stop and think about how a vehicle gets back to its original location after you drop it off? Someone's got to drive it back, and luckily for you, the rental companies incentivise people to do just that. It's called one-way campervan hire relocation and it involves someone agreeing to drive the vehicle one-way within a specific time-frame.
There are lots of reasons a motorhome supplier might need some of their fleet in a particular location at any given time. Most commonly it's to do with demand, which suppliers fulfill by making sure the right vehicles are in the right place at the right time. To achieve this, they offer deep discounts on vehicle relocation, meaning that you can drive a vehicle from one location to another at a fraction of the cost.
What kind of discounts are we talking about?

It's not unusual for a supplier in New Zealand to need a vehicle currently in Christchurch to be driven to Auckland.
