Get great deals with a Dubai car rental

A top Middle Eastern destination, Dubai is the star-child of the United Arab Emirates, hosting millions of travelers every year, and for very good reason. It’s a magnificent metropolis that offers endless entertainment no matter what you are into. From the world-renowned Burj Khalifa, to the Dubai Creek, the stunning Jumeirah Mosque, and many more eye-opening attractions and sights, you will be enthralled with your time in this world-class city. The one drawback? The heat! But you can avoid it and get from location to location in supreme air-conditioned comfort with a top-class rental car from GoSee.

Navigating through Dubai Airport

Well-known as one of the top 10 busiest airports in the world and located just over 4km from the city centre, Dubai International Airport is packed full of outstanding facilities you may never see anywhere else.

Look forward to zen gardens, a swimming pool, huge sprawling retail space for shopping, and coveted Snoozecubes to enjoy a nap between flights.

Dubai Airport has three passenger terminals. After arriving, clearing customs, and claiming your baggage, you’ll find the car rental kiosks at any of the airport's three arrival halls for their respective terminals.

Dubai Airport Terminal 1

One of the main passenger terminals at Dubai Airport, Terminal 1 serves over 60 international airlines, except for Emirates and Qantas which operate in Dubai Airport Terminal 3. Avis, Budget, Thrifty, Europcar and Hertz can be found at Terminal 1 arrivals.

Dubai Airport Terminal 2

Terminal 2 is the smallest terminal at Dubai Airport and is more domestic-focused, yet it serves over 50 airlines. It features car rental companies such as Avis, Budget, Sixt and Thrifty.

Dubai Airport Terminal 3

Dubai Terminal 3 is not only the largest airport terminal in the world, but it is also one of the largest buildings in the world. There are over 168 rental car spaces available at Dubai Airport Terminal 3 from brands including Alamo, Avis, AutoEurope, Diamondlease, Dollar, Europcar, Firefly, Go, Hertz, Honk, Keddy, Payless, and Sixt.

With your rental car keys in hand, you can make your way to the city centre within 10 minutes.

How and where to pick up your hire car

Because Dubai Airport is so large, you’ll want to try and rent a car from an agency kiosk located in the terminal you land.

You will likely land in either Terminal 1 or 2, as Terminal 3 is for Emirates and Qantas flights.

The good news is with GoSee, you can rent cars from all the agencies located in Dubai Airport Terminal (T1 and T2), including the best rental agencies like Avis, Budget and Thrifty.

Getting from the airport to the city in your Dubai car hire

Just in case you are short on mobile data, here’s a full guide for getting to the city centre from Dubai International Airport:

  1. Exit the airport onto Casablanca St/D70 toward Al Garhoud.
  2. Keep right at the fork, following signs for E11.
  3. Merge onto E11/Al Garhoud Bridge.
  4. Stay on E11 until taking exit 50A for D71 W toward Jumeira

That’s it! Now you’re in the heart of Dubai City

Be aware that this route includes toll roads, so keep cash handy to pay the tolls.

Tips for driving your car rental in Dubai

If you haven’t driven in the Middle East before, you’ll want to know the lay of the land a little. Here are a few top tips to help you make the most of your rental car:

  • Roads are often overwhelmingly busy, with fast drivers and large roads. Be extra vigilant of speed, check mirrors frequently, and always look before merging lanes.
  • Camels are a known road hazard in Dubai, and while they aren’t exactly speedy, you’ll want to slow down and navigate around them if you see them.
  • Like the U.S., rental cars in Dubai are left-hand drive, and you will be driving on the right-hand side of the road.
  • There is a unique toll system in Dubai called the Salik Toll. Ask about it when you pick up your Dubai Airport car rental for clear instructions on how and when to pay.
  • The heat in Dubai is very real. Always travel with ample water on hand.
